Fonda Mexican's Flinders Lane casa is the brand's busy CBD flagship — a mezzanine dining room with wall-length windows onto the laneway, seating about 200 for quick Mexican-inspired street food. The menu (May 2026) spans tacos, loaded nachos, burritos and bowls with rice and quinoa, quesadillas, antojitos such as charred street corn, and a long margarita and frozen-cocktail list; happy hour runs 4–6pm Monday–Friday on the official site. Owners David Youl and Tim McDonald built Fonda as a casual, accessible counter-service chain (Broadsheet compares it to a faster Mamasita); tortillas come from La Tortilleria and the kitchen leans fresh produce rather than greasy mince. Walk-in friendly; order at the counter or via site links — not a fine-dining reservation house.
