Northern Melbourne Turkish takeaway on Barry Road at the Coolaroo–Dallas border, trading since the late 1980s when Adana-born Yusuf Altinpinar bought the kebab shop opposite the Ford plant with partners Suphi Ukur and Monzer Abdo — still family-run with son Hus Altinpinar on the pass. Everything is made in-house: house-baked bread for wraps, a 30-year lamb adana mince recipe, spit-roasted doner, and pide shaped and baked to order from a stone oven. The Age Good Food Guide Critics’ Pick (12.5/20, 2025) rates the adana wrap among Melbourne’s best and highlights kiymali pide and boat-shaped egg–sucuk pide; queues of tradies and families under the picture menu are normal. Mon–Sat 9am–9pm (closed Sundays). Fully halal per Zabihah (Muslim owners, no alcohol). Mostly takeaway with a few booths and outdoor seats.
