About Us
Since 2013, Mesa Verde has occupied level six of Curtin House above Swanston Street—a saloon-inspired Mexican restaurant and agave bar with Mark Douglass pendant lighting, a Raw Bar, and rotating DJs keeping the room late into the night. Executive chef Jacob Green (Southern US via Oaxaca) sends shareable modern-Mexican plates built from seasonal Victorian produce and herbs from the building’s rooftop garden: Baja fish tacos, tomato-lime snapper ceviche, lamb barbacoa, and a seven-plate chef’s selection for groups. The bar holds one of Australia’s deepest tequila and mezcal collections—Time Out cites 150+ tequilas and 70+ mezcals—with $10 Margarita de la Casa happy hour 4–6pm Tue–Sat, $5 taco Tuesdays, and $30 Wednesday steak nights.
