About Us
First Australian outpost of the Colombo-born Ministry of Crab brand (chef Dharshan Munidasa; cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene), opened April 2025 on level 1 of historic Invicta House on Flinders Lane after sellout Crown pop-ups in 2022 and 2024. The dimly lit dining room — orange-and-sea-green banquettes, velvet curtains and an open kitchen with an illuminated crab-size board — serves wild-caught Australian mud crab by weight (medium through two-kilogram Crabzilla; about $190 per kilogram per Good Food Guide) in pepper, garlic-chilli, curry and other sauces, with a front cocktail bar and small bites from the main menu. Victorian and Northern Territory mud crab replace Sri Lankan import under Australian quarantine (D&K Live Seafood). Groups of eight or more dine on the MOC set menu; reservations via SevenRooms with card guarantee ($70 per person cancellation fee). Sister charcoal seafood diner II.II.VI occupies the building’s subterranean level. Good Food Guide hat (15/20, updated Oct 2025).
