About Us
Niku Ou (“meat king”) is the Wagyu Ya Group’s premium yakiniku house in the Paramount Centre on Bourke Street — a contemporary charcoal-grill room with exposed stone walls and a sumo mural where guests cook licensed Kobe beef and graded Japanese and Australian wagyu at the table. The group bills the venue as Victoria’s licensed Kobe beef supplier and the first Australian restaurant group to hold exclusive Matsusaka wagyu allocations, with seasonal Matsusaka champion tasting menus, Sher Wagyu collaborations, shabu-shabu and sukiyaki hot pots, omakase-style sushi and sashimi, Niku Ou–only dishes such as truffle rice, and a private dining room for up to about 14 guests.
