About Us

Paladarr Thai Issan was chef Chaloem Chaiseeha and co-owner Bryan Derrick's award-winning Northeastern Thai restaurant in a converted State Bank of Victoria building on Rowe Street (corner Yarralea Street) — Good Food Guide chef's hat (15/20, The Age 2012), quiet carpeted dining rooms, courtyard, private banquet rooms, and Isaan-style curries often without coconut milk. Reviewers highlighted construct-your-own betel-leaf miang kham, exquisitely roasted duck in red curry, and cooking classes plus Thailand/Laos culinary tours run from the kitchen. Broadsheet (2019) reports the Paladarr owners closed the business so siblings Dylan and Maddy Breen could open Alphington Social (Italian) in July 2019 at the same 7 Rowe Street address; 3AW notes the site was formerly Paladarr Thai in the old bank. paladarr.com.au no longer serves the restaurant — list as closed, not open.
