About Us

Paladarr Thai Issan was chef Chaloem Chaiseeha and co-owner Bryan Derrick's award-winning Northeastern Thai restaurant in a converted State Bank of Victoria building on Rowe Street (corner Yarralea Street) — Good Food Guide chef's hat (15/20, The Age 2012), quiet carpeted dining rooms, courtyard, private banquet rooms, and Isaan-style curries often without coconut milk. Reviewers highlighted construct-your-own betel-leaf miang kham, exquisitely roasted duck in red curry, and cooking classes plus Thailand/Laos culinary tours run from the kitchen. The owners posted an official closure notice on paladarr.com.au in early 2019 after 14 years; Broadsheet and 3AW report siblings Dylan and Maddy Breen opened Alphington Social (Italian) at the same address in July 2019. The site is permanently closed — do not treat the legacy domain or Instagram as proof of current trading.
