Hardware Lane institution spread across two levels of a converted warehouse — chocolate-brown and gold interiors mixing exposed brick and timber with leather banquettes and chandeliers. Upstairs, the Mill Restaurant serves modern Australian à la carte and tapas in a candlelit dining room or at lane-side tables when the precinct is buzzing; evenings often bring live music spilling into the laneway. Downstairs, Charlie’s Bar is a basement lounge for drinks after dinner. The menu runs from natural or Kilpatrick oysters and salt-and-pepper calamari through lamb ragu fettuccine, the house Mill burger, a loaded seafood basket, char-grilled eye fillet and rib-eye, plus wood-fired pizzas and vegetarian plates. Group functions use Gold and Platinum set menus or sharing platters; book via the site’s OpenTable widget or walk in. Open seven days from 11am for lunch and dinner.
