About Us

Wazzup Falafel is a Palestinian-owned vegan falafel canteen on High Street in Northcote, run by chef Ahmad Al Alaea and business partner Bara Sifi. Al Alaea grew up in Jordan as a Palestinian refugee, trained with falafel chefs there, and started a Preston food truck in March 2020 before opening this timber-clad bricks-and-mortar shop in early 2024. Everything is made in-house daily — pita, hummus, tahini, condiments, and falafel fried to order from chickpeas, parsley, bicarb, and a signature 21-spice blend (no fava beans). Counter service with bar seating overlooking High Street, a semi-open kitchen, and small side tables; order falafel in boxes, wraps, pita pockets, snack packs, or the house FSP (falafel-on-chips). Fully plant-based; delivery via Uber Eats.
