Yamamoto Udon Izakaya is the Yu family's licensed 150-seat QV spin-off from Bourke Street Yamamoto Udon — a Tokyo-style izakaya on Level 2 of QV Square where handmade Himokawa and Sanuki noodles (fresh daily from the Bourke kitchen) sit alongside 30-plus udon styles, QV-only carbonara and mentaiko bowls, sashimi, beef tataki, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, karaage, tempura and robatayaki, plus Japanese cocktails from about $14 and $11 Suntory pints. iPad ordering sends share plates as they are ready; walk-ins suit smaller groups and larger tables book on (03) 9989 5005.
